On the shelf: I love Bacon

I received this book as a gift a few years ago but NOW I am ready to do some creating: bacon hash, bacon mac & cheese and the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin have passed the test..it's on and will be documented.

I will have to re-think the chocolate bacon cupcakes but the bacon caramel popcorn may be on the radar.

Thanks RT for added this to my collection- stay tuned.

The "down-with-the-swirl" sugar cookies

This shortcut recipe has been a HUGE hit. The most celebrated item I have made to date. Since they are NOT homemade - I will share the tricks if only to cut down on the amount I have to make in the future.

ingredients:

2 packs of sugar cookie mix
2 eggs
2 sticks butter
cooking spray
red food coloring
2 cups all purpose flour

You will need two packs of sugar cookies.
Make 2 separate batches in two separate bowls
according to instructions on package
(needed 2 eggs and 2 sticks butter)
* margarine can be used but with everything - butter is better.

In ONE bowl add 3 tablespoons of red food coloring, mix
add 1 cup of flour to EACH bowl and mix each creating a ball of dough

Unroll each ball on a sheet of foil sprayed with cooking oil

Carefully remove the red dough from foil and place directly on the other

Roll towards the middle

Wrap tight with foil and chill for 1 hour

Slice and place on UN greased cookie sheet

Bake 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes

Let cookies cool before removing them from cookie sheet
