on the shelf: 50 ways to make deviled eggs



Perfection can always be improved upon.

 I have been using my own tried and true, fan fav shrimp deviled eggs recipe for 10+ years now and open to a "little" change.
This book was a gift and I am open mindedly willing to check it out.

Peanut butter cookies









Ingredients:

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup peanuts
1/4 shortening
1/4 cup softened butter (half stick)
1 egg
1 1/4 cup flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Mix sugars, peanut butter, shortening, butter, and egg in large bowl - add peanuts
Stir in the remaining ingredients. Mix well

Pour on foil and roll, refrigerate for 2+ hours

slice and place on ungreased cookie sheet

making a crisscross pattern with fork dipped in sugar

Bake 10 mins @375

"Engagement" chicken aka baked lemon chicken


Supposedly 4 cowoworkers made this chicken for their mates and
got engagement rings soon after hence the name, I just wanted baked chicken


ingredients:
1 roasting chicken
sea salt
pepper
teaspoon minced garlic
olive oil
butter
lemon
peeled onion sliced in half

Pre heat oven 400 degrees

Wash chicken in cold waters, removing and disgarding the innerds
pat outside dry with paper towel
liberally salt and pepper the inside of bird
cut lemon in half, spread garlic on top and place inside
place both onion half in chicken
place 4 pats of butter under the skin of the chicken
cover in olive oil, salt and pepper outside

Roast the chicken (uncovered) for 1 hour and 15 minutes
Then cover in foil reduce oven to 350 and roast for 45 minutes







 

House tea





6 tea bags
2 cups sugar
lemon

Bring water to a boil, in the pitcher add sugar and tea bags
then pour water and stir
add sliced lemon

Sausage cheese balls





Ingredients:

3 cups Bisquick
1 pound pork sausage
4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup milk
garlic powder

Heat oven 350 degree - grease cookie sheet
stir together all ingredients  - use hands to mix well - shape into balls
place on pan

Bake 25 minutes

Serve with mustard

Roast beef n cheddar sammich


I was craving an Arby's beef n cheddar sandwich but we dont have a location in the city.

I decided to try and create a home version. It was NOT the same but it definately hit the spot.

This recipe would be better with cheez wiz but I stepped it up and used real cheddar from the deli

Ingredients:

thin sliced roast beef
sliced cheddar cheese
sliced onions
garlic
onion roll
butter
sauce and pepper

sauce:
ketscup
tabasco
garlic powder
onion powder
